In badminton, the first to 21, wins the set. Points are given when one of the following happens:
Singles and doubles vary in their use of the lines on the court, and these are important because of the number of players means that more or less area can be covered. Below we have two diagrams showing the difference. An easy way to think about the court changes are, Singles; long and skinny all the time, Doubles; short and fat when serving then full court during play.

| 2.1.1. The tournament will have following categories: Women’s Singles (WS) / Women’s Double (WD) / Men’s Singles (MS) Men’s Doubles (MD) / Juniors (JUN) / Mixed Doubles (XD) | |||||||||
| 2.1.2. Please refer to pages below for each category details. |
2.2.1. In the group stages, a player will be awarded 2 pts for every match won
2.2.2. Additionally, the difference in points in that game will be multiplied by x 0.01 and added to the points tally of the winning
player. For example, if a player wins the game 21-19, for that game the player will be awarded 2+(2×0.01) =2.02 points for that game
2.2.3. If any 2 player/teams have the same number of points, then a game of 7 points will be played between them, to resolve the tie
2.2.4. Players/teams will swap sides mid-game, i.e. at 8 points in a 15-point game, and at 11 points in a 21-point game
2.2.5. The chair umpire/referee’s call will be final and binding
2.2.6. For a bye, the winner will be awarded the following:
For a 15 points game, the player will be awarded 2+(8×0.01) = 2.08 pts
For a 21 points game, the player will be awarded 2+(11×0.01) = 2.11 pts

3. We can refuse entry to anyone, including members, if they act unreasonably or breach the conditions of entry.
4.Failing to follow the rules stated above may lead to asking the individual to leave the premises and may result in the forfeit of their participation.
5.Players are responsible for their on-court presentation, behaviour, conduct and performance.
6.The award ceremony for the tournament will be held on the evening of 12-Dec-21 where the prizes will be distributed to the winners/runners up at Epping Club. All winners and Runners-up will have free entry to the event and any additional visitor will be $60 p.p.
